Message to Absent Fathers During Abortion

Wow, these are complex times we live in. For years, Sarah and I have prayed for the protection of people without a voice of their own. Children are perhaps the quintessential example...whether they are geographically outside or inside the womb. I still remember the innocence and helplessness of my 5 children hours after their birth and hours and months before it. Regardless of the draw on our resources, body and life, we will continue to put their needs above our own.

For a decade, we have also counseled many pre and post abortive mothers and love them and protect them from shame, guilt and other attacks as well.

Perhaps my biggest struggle in all of this is the absent dads. Many women we have talked to facing abortion are terrified and without help from dad. Or worse yet, baby's dad is pushing to abort.

Fathers, I am calling you upward to stand by your responsibilities and put your family's needs before your own. Get off the game, pay child support or better yet, never leave your family in the first place. Parenting and leading is extremely difficult but rewarding...and the only path forward when you impregnate women. Much love to you, I feel your pain as we lose many freedoms as fathers. But man up and start leading these terrified mothers and innocent children. You can do this and it is all worth it in the end!
